Lynda K. (Harris) Tometich
1942-2013

Lifelong Aberdeen resident Lynda Kay Tometich passed away peacefully in her husband’s arms early Tuesday morning, October 2, 2013. She was 71. Lynda was born July 17, 1942 in Aberdeen, Washington to Jack and Nadine (Jobb) Harris.

Lynda graduated from J.M. Weatherwax High School in 1960 and was active in the planning of every class reunion.

On June 17, 1961, Lynda married the love of her life, William Tometich, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Aberdeen. He survives her at the family home.

Lynda worked as a school secretary at Robert Gray Elementary for 28 years, retiring in June 1999.

Lynda enjoyed gardening, camping and was an excellent baker and cook. Her home met the certified requirements as a “backyard wildlife sanctuary”. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sporting events and loved traveling. She had been to Europe, but her favorite destination on earth was Maui. Their home had an open-door policy where the cookie jar was always full, and a coffee pot was always perking.

In addition to her loving husband Bill, Lynda is also survived by her sons Bill (Sandy) of Aberdeen and Bob (Annette) of Wishkah Valley; her mother Nadine Harris of Hoquiam; brother David Lee Harris of Portland, Oregon; four grandchildren, Abby Jo and Hannah, both of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Jade of Seattle and Cole of Cosmopolis.

A celebration of her life will be held from 12 noon to 3 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Aberdeen Elks, 1712 South Boone (Aberdeen). Memorials are suggested to Harbors Home Health and Hospice or St. Andrews Relay For Life, 400 East 1st in Aberdeen.
