Jane M. (Emmelman) Southard
1942-1995

A Lewis County resident since 1960, Jane M. “Boots” Southard, 53, died at her home near Centralia on Jan. 31, 1995.

Born March 14, 1942, at Aberdeen to Rudi and Lorraine (Parker) Emmelman, she loved to work with her flowers, especially in her rose garden.

She worked with her husband, Tom, operating their dairy farm on Lincoln Creek. She enjoyed being a dairyman’s wife, and was dedicated to working on the family farm.

Her memberships included the Lincoln Creek Grange; the Order of the Eastern Star, Oakville Chapter; and a past honor queen of the Aberdeen Chapter of Jobs Daughters.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Tom, at the family home; a son, Clint, of Centralia; a sister Ruth Ann Haskins, of Hoquiam; her mother, of Hoquiam; two nephews; and several cousins.

Her father, and her son Wade preceded her in death.

Memorials may be donations to Children’s Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box C5371, Seattle, WA 98105.

At her request, no services will be held. Entombment will be in Sunset Gardens Mausoleum in Chehalis. Arrangements are under the direction of Newell-Hoerling’s Mortuary in Centralia.
