Leo Pilas
1941-2008
Leo Albert Pilas, 67, a former resident of Aberdeen, died Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Cristwood Nursing Center in Seattle, following a four-year battle with prostate cancer.
Leo was born February 28, 1941 in Aberdeen to Leo Joseph and Mabel (Pearson) Pilas.
He graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1960 and then attended Grays Harbor College for two years. He joined the United States Air Force for four years working with the Security Services. After being honorably discharged, he moved to Seattle where he worked for Safeco Insurance from 1968-1976 and then for Prodata Systems Inc. of Bothell from 1977 until his retirement last year where he worked as an Account Executive.
Leo loved skiing, biking, bike riding and photography. He also enjoyed playing golf.
Leo is survived by his sister Kathy and husband Michael Martinelli of Edmonds, and brother Jim Pilas of Des Moines; also a niece Sherry and husband Aarron Lawson of Seattle.
Per Leo’s request, there will be no services. He will be inurned at Fern Hill Cemetery in Aberdeen.
He had requested that donations be made to either the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 202, Aberdeen, WA 98520 or your favorite charity.
